I was in Barnes & Noble this morning and mentioned a book to a woman who I had never met before. She was there with her son who was in a grumpy mood and wanted to go home. This mom and mom-to-be was patient while she looked through the books. I asked her if he liked it when mom read to him and she said yes.
As our conversation took different turns, I recommended a favorite book of mine and many parents. I've been recommending this book for over six years since a friend actually got it for me for my birthday to read with my son who is now fourteen. He has fond memories of it. I have never had anyone tell me that they didn't like the book. Most have let me know that their child loves this book. Many will ask what else I recommend after reading this one to their little ones.
